HISTORY:
*The name Prežek is supposed to derive from the last name of noble family called Pris. Pris-ecke and today Prežek. They were mentioned as the owners of castle Prežek in 12th century.
*In the 15th century the mansion was build by noble Andreus IV. from Auersperg from an earlier building. It was build in the region called Slovene Mark that was in 13th century incoporated in a larger region called Carniola.
*In the vicinity of mansion stood the old castle Prežek which was in the year 1511 hit by severe earthquake and ruined. After natural disaster it was abandoned and never rebuild.
*In 1942 italian soldiers raided the mansion and stole all the inventory. After the raid partisans burned the building down so that the Italian soldiers could not use it as a base of operation. Even today, you can still see on the wall of the mansion, holes made from partisan rifles.
*After the war the building was renovated and used for housing. Today it is left abandoned, but you can buy it for 190.000€.
